WOOSTER -- Being the executive director of the Viola Startzman Free Clinic is a full-time job in itself, and juggling parenthood and work life is anything but a walk in the park.
Jaime Parsons admits it's stressful juggling work and being a mother, however, she said her No. 1 priority is to raise her two children, Bailey, 7, and Mackenzie, 6.
"I love laying in bed with them and tucking them in. No matter what, they still want a hug and a kiss from mom. The intimidating part is that they don't come with a manual and you only get one chance -- you can't rewind their lives. Because of that, my husband and I are both very committed to being involved in their lives," she said.
She and her husband, Bryan, coach and help their kids out with sports and volunteer at their school, where she is the Parent Teacher Organization president.
"It's not the school's job to raise my kids -- it is my job and I take that seriously," she said. "I love being the mom at sporting events cheering them on and being involved. I want to be more than a provider."

WOOSTER — Dr. Viola Startzman Robertson, the namesake of the Viola Startzman Free Clinic, was remembered as a pioneer in medicine who cared for the underprivileged. She died Wednesday at age
“Dr. Vi,” as Robertson was known to many, graduated from The College of Wooster in She earned a master’s degree in organic chemistry from Western Reserve University in , and was admitted to the Western Reserve School of Medicine the following year, graduating in She was one of four women in her class.
Robertson completed her residency in pediatrics in what is now Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital-University Hospitals. She later became a staff physician with the Cleveland Clinic and helped start its pediatric department.
