ولد ملحم زين (Melhem Zein) في يوم 21 أكتوبر بمحافظة البقاع في لبنان. هو واحد من ثمانية إخوة لعائلة ترعرعت في البقاع ودرس أبناؤها هناك. درس القانون في كلية حقوق كما درس الموسيقى في عدد من المعاهد والجامعات. بدأت موهبته بالظهور في سن 7، وشارك في سن 11 بمهرجان مدرسي الأغنية ضم جميع مدارس لبنان وحاز المركز الأول عن منطقته، كما شارك في العديد من البرامج أهمها برنامج (سوبر ستار) وتألق بشكل كبير نظرا لصوته الجبلي الرائع الذي ابهر به الجماهير العربية، وهناك أطلق عليه لقب (برنس الأغنية)، ووصل إلى المثلث الذهبي رفقة كل من رويدا عطية وديانا كرزون وإثر خروجه من المسابقة حصلت أعمال شغب
