The Abraham Lincoln Monument stands near the center of Tijuana, in the “Avenue of the Heroes”. The monument was part of a trade between sister cities San Diego and Tijuana. Lincoln would come to us, and Benito Juarez (one of our well-known presidents) would stand in Pantoja Park in San Diego. This was a trade to showcase the friendship between the two ex-presidents and symbolize a bigger friendship among the two nations.
