PETER J. ROSE, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of
Expeditors International of Washington, Inc., began in the
transportation business when he was five, wearing an adult-sized
truckers cap and delighting Montreal housewives as he swaggered up
their sidewalk to deliver packages, with his father watching from the
cab of his delivery van. Those lessons of diligent work, family
encouragement and enjoying the job have stayed with him and are some of
his guiding philosophies as he runs one of the most successful logistics
companies in the country. Expeditors International, which was
incorporated in and in opened offices in Chicago, Seattle, San
Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, has grown to include offices
in virtually every time zone. Today, the Seattle-based, $1-billion
company is publicly traded (NASDAQ: EXPD) and employs over 5, people
worldwide. He attended Westmount High School and Sir George Williams
University. After putting aside a dream of being a professional hockey
player, Mr. Rose decided to follow his fathers career path in the
transportation industry. He went to work for Canadian Pacific, a direct
competitor to his father
Life after Charlie Hustle | The ex-Mrs. Pete Rose spins yarns on Pete, family and life
Karolyn Rose once was married to the most famous athlete in Cincinnati history. The original Mrs. Pete Rose was unabashedly loud, proud and a celebrity in her own right.
After many years in the spotlight, Karolyn began keeping a lower profile after she divorced Pete in Tired of her husband’s womanizing and inattention to his family, Karolyn threw herself even deeper into the lives of her beloved children, Fawn and Pete Jr.
Karolyn watched mostly in silence – at least publicly – as Pete Sr. remarried, had two more children, became baseball’s Hit King () and then was banned from baseball for gambling ().
One of Karolyn’s last truly public appearances was in at old Riverfront Stadium/Cinergy Field, when Pete Jr. was called up to the Reds and played briefly for the team.
Now, with her 70th birthday approaching (March 14), The Enquirer sought to catch up with Karolyn at her West Side home. Her formerly dark hair is now blonde – yes, that Facebook photo is a much younger Karolyn.
“How are you going to dress up a year-old woman, hon?” she said, then laughs.
She admittedly looks much different

The Inquirer story says, “Pete Rose was at home playing baseball in Philly. His grandson hopes to do the same. Pete ‘P.J.’ Rose III, grandson of the baseball legend, will be the third generation of Roses to play in Philadelphia.”
PJ Rose, whose full name is Peter Edward Rose III, is the son of Rose’s namesake son, Pete Rose Jr., who frequently posts about PJ’s budding baseball career on his X page. He is playing baseball for Lasalle Univ
