Max Zorn is a contemporary Dutch-German artist known for his distinctive style of creating art using ordinary brown packing tape. He layers strips of tape onto acrylic glass and cuts each layer into shape to form his intricate works. Born in Amsterdam, he grew up and studied in various cities in Germany. Zorns artistic career took off in when he started creating small tape artworks that he then hung as street art on lamps throughout the city of Amsterdam.
He continued to refine his technique over the next decade and today creates large scale artworks that are not only visually stunning, but also carry the deep emotional resonance that became his trademark.
In recent years, Zorns work has gained international recognition, with his pieces displayed at major art fairs, galleries and museums around the world.

Amsterdam street artist Max Zorn has a unique talent for making incredible art using mainly brown packaging tape.
The very idea of using tape instead of paint came from Max Zorn’s friend who was working in a car design. “These guys often use slim tapes to outline their ideas on large boards. I was surprise to see how fast they could create stunning sketches with it”, says Max Zorn. And ever since then, he started showing his talents making this packaging tape art by decorating old street lamps which you can find almost everywhere in Amsterdam. It’s the perfect medium to experiment, because of its golden glow, he adds.

Max Zorn is a Dutch street artist, he uses brown packing tape as his medium by cutting & attaching it to acrylic glass, these portraits and scenes reveal themselves when the glass is lit from behind, his editioned works are presented inside a lightbox which can be presented on the wall.
Max Zorn's rise began after publishing a two-minute self-made video on YouTube “Street Art by Max Zorn Making of Tape Art” in November This film shows how Zorn hangs his art on street lamps in Amsterdam. This film attracted international media interest, and by April Max Zorn had created over works of tape art. Zorn’s work has been described as classic, film noir and nostalgic and has been presented on street lamps in Germany, United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Florida, Canada and Hong Kong. Through his project Stick Together, his work has also been put on street lamps by fans worldwide.
In spring , Max Zorn was invited by the Sovereign Art Foundation to perform a live tape at Art Basel Hong Kong, the proceeds of which went to the foundation for disadvantaged children in Southeast Asia.
