Comunque, nel tango danza si pretende che la creazione sia anonima e collettiva, anche se in realtà ci sono passi e sequenze che un nome e un cognome ce li hanno eccome: quelli di Antonio Todaro.
Come tutti i grandi creatori, Antonio Todaro lavorava per “la cosa in sé”, ossia sulla forma, perché nella danza occorrono delle verità pratiche.
Todaro queste verità le ha espresse in forme di grande bellezza, condensandole nei più nitidi, coerenti e luminosi materiali coreografici del tango moderno. Stava poi ai ballerini incarnarle con l’intensità e il lirismo che soltanto la milonga può dare.
E’ importante ricordare che i suoi migliori allievi, cioè i fratelli Osvaldo e Miguel Angel Zotto, Pablo Verón, Alejandro Aquino, Milena Plebs, Vanina Bilous e Mariachiara Michieli, oltre a essere ballerini straordinari, sono tutti ballerini laureati alla milonga.
